Jury of IV International Violin Competition

Konstanty Andrzej Kulka (born 5 March 1947) is a Polish violinist, recording artist, and professor of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw since 1994, also heading the Institute of String Instruments there. Kulka graduated with honors from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk in 1971. He played over 1,500 recitals internationally, including in the United States, Japan, and Australia. Kulka is a guest performer with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra. He took part in leading music festivals including in Lucerne, Bordeaux, Flandria, Berlin, Prague, Barcelona, Brighton, and Warsaw.

Roland Baldini, born in Vienna in 1946 from a family of musicians, studied with Edith Steinbauer at the Academy of Music in Vienna, with Jürgen Geise at the Salzburg Mozarteum and later with Max Rostal and Franco Gulli. While still a student, he played in the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Camerata Academia Salzburg and after graduation taught at the Vorarlberg Conservatory. He also toured throughout Europe, America and the Far East with his own ensemble and as a soloist.
Guest professor at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, at the University of Illinois and at the Silpakorn University in Bangkok. Since 1994 Roland Baldini has been a Professor for Violin and Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy” in Leipzig, Germany. Member of jury in several international violin-competitions (e.g.: “Internationaler Bach-Wettbewerb”, Leipzig)

In the period 1998-2013 he was Artistic Director of the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice and the Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors, as well as the laureate in the competition in 1991. In the period 1999-2002 he was the main conductor of the International Piano Competition in Porto (Portugal), and in 2003 – a juror and conductor at the International Piano Competition in Morocco. Two years later he was appointed Artistic Director at the 2nd International Violin Competition in Toruń, and in 2011 he took the position of the chairman of the jury of the 8th W. Lutosławski International Cello Competition in Warsaw.

Professor of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire Sergey Kravchenko was born in 1947. He graduated from the famous Stolyarsky School of Music in Odessa in 1965 and entered the Moscow Conservatoire. His teacher was world-renowned violinist, professor, musician Leonid Kogan. After he became a Prize winner at Paganini competition in Geneva (in 1969), his concert career began. Later he also became a Prize winner in J. Thibaut competition in Paris (in 1971) and in Competition of String Quartets in Liege, Belgium (in 1972). He is a member of jury at many prestige International competitions: Tchaikovsky competition, Brahms competition, Oistrakh competition, Enescu competition, Lysenko competition and others. Sergey Kravchenko has made numerous recordings in Russia, Germany, France, Italy and other countries. He is also an author of several methodic books for violin.For his outstanding achievements Sergey Kravchenko was awarded an honorary title: “Distinguished Artist of Russia”.

Michael Stricharz, born in Vienna. Professor at the Music Academy in Hamburg he is a distinguished and outstanding violinist, a student of the virtuoso Henryk Szeryng. He holds a title of Doctor Honoris Causa of fine Arts and Professor Honoris Causa of Univesities and Music Academies in Russia,Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Honorary member of the “Richard Wagner Society” (Germany) and the “Henryk Wieniawski Society” (Poland-Lublin). Head and jury member of numerous renowned international music competitions. Michael Stricharz has participated in various renowned music festivals, including the ones in Salzburg, Edinburgh, Lucerne and Bayreuth. He is a president of the “Michael Stricharz Competition for Young Violinists” in Ukraine and Kazakhstan, and the president of the Lvov Chamber Orchestra. Michael Stricharz is a holder of numerous honorary orders awarded in various countries and a laureates of the most prestigious international prizes in the field of culture and arts – the Olympus Award of the Year 2005.

Tomasz Tomaszewski is a Polish violinist and the first concertmaster in Deutsche Oper Berlin. Born in Czechowice, Poland. He studied at the Warsaw Academy of Music, then the Leningrad Conservatory and later in Freiburg, he also attended master classes with Fyodor Druzhinin, Oleh Krysa, Pierre Fournier, Liebermann, Hiller and Szerny. He is a professor on Berlin University of the Arts. He is associated with Kwartet Polski ensemble.
